Surely The Cavedogs' lack of commercial success is one of pop music's greatest mysteries. In spite of two excellent major-label albums and a couple of great CD singles, they never reached the kind of following they deserved.
But The Cavedogs are more than just a footnote in the history of pop music. While the band is no more, it served as a springboard for three musical careers that continue to leave their marks. Brian Stevens (bass/vocals), Todd Spahr (guitar/vocals), and Mark Rivers (drums/vocals) are all still active in the music business, and in pursuing their individual goals, are continuing to create their own unique brands of power pop.
The intention of this web site is not to be simply a memorial. With the invaluable assistance of Brian Stevens, producer Jon Lupfer, tour manager Phil Sullivan, the kind folks at Q Division Records, and an assortment of Cavedogs fans, I hope to present a complete portrait of this fine band, and more importantly, to follow the remarkable careers of its former members.
